Should you use a design professional to help with selections?

The selection process can be an enjoyable part of the home building process, and many people love it, but it can also be overwhelming. There are many decisions to be made and the possibilities are almost endless. Selections made on time can keep a construction project moving along on schedule. Selections not made on time, or selection changes made after a certain point can bring a project to a screeching halt. Therefore, if you are too busy to devote enough time to this process as not to hold up the project, we highly recommend that you hire a design professional to help.

Approximately, 25% of our clients choose to hire a professional to help them or to do the selections for them. A design professional can be hired in two different ways; project basis or hourly basis. Clients that are extremely busy, don't trust their decorating taste, or just don't have any desire to do it, should hire a design professional on a project basis and let them put everything together for you. Other Clients who have the time and desire but would like someone other than the builder to review their selections should hire a design professional on an hourly basis as needed. In many cases, just a few hours spent with a third party professional reviewing your selections will either put your mind at ease or stop you from doing something that your may regret later. With or without a design professional, Scalero is more than happy to review selections with our clients, adding an additional safety check to the selection process.
